App Store Requirements

If you’re looking to get your app into the Apple App Store/Google Play Store, or already have one or more apps published you may or may not be surprised to know that both Apple and Google have outlined specific requirements for applications with user generated content (e.g. chat, messages, images/video, etc). It is important to become familiar with this criteria to better prepare your app for success.
Apple App Store
- A method for filtering objectionable material from being posted to the app
- A mechanism to report offensive content and timely responses to concerns
- The ability to block abusive users from the service
Google Play Store
- Define content that is objectionable and prohibit it via a terms of use or policy document
- Implement a user-friendly system for reporting abuse that effectively removes content in violation of your terms
- Remove or block abusive users of your service
